Bluffton, South Carolina - Theodore Hampton Frederick, Jr., 87, of Bluffton, SC passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, surrounded by family, at Friends of Caroline's Cottage Hospice House.
Theodore was born April 12, 1937 in Providence, KY to the late Theodore Hampton Frederick and Ruth Elizabeth Hall. He worked as an electrician for over 30 years for Peabody Coal Company in Western KY and taught welding at a local tech college. "Teddy" loved God and his family above all else and bird watching with an occasional fishing trip with his Grandkids.
Theodore is survived by his most loving wife of 61 years, Marilyn Frederick; daughters, Cynthia Frederick Reynolds (Michael Reynolds) and Sheri Frederick Getsinger of Bluffton, SC; three grandchildren, Daniel Francis Gourley II (Mary Elizabeth) of Bluffton, SC, Zachary Cole Reynolds (Alexsandra) of Greenville, SC, Hannah Elizabeth Reynolds of Newport Beach, CA; two Great-Grandchildren, Laura Katherine Gourley (7) and Charles Harris Gourley (5), whom POPS dearly loved. He is also survived by siblings, Esther Ruth Frederick of Sebree KY, Michele Frederick Stone of Providence, KY, Keith Frederick of Dixon, KY and Terri Frederick Phillips of Eddyville, KY, and sister-in-law, Barbara Frederick, wife of David Cole. He was recently predeceased by his brother, David Cole Frederick of Providence KY.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 7, 2024 at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort.

Two years ago meeting Ted and Marilyn was a blessing since moving from Ohio not knowing anyone. We became great friends and met for lunch several times.
We enjoyed his sense of humor and he always had a story to tell us. He will be
missed.
