March 17, 1933 - August 31, 2023
Athens, Georgia - Thomas Hugh Oliver, 90, of Athens, Georgia died on August 31, 2023. The son of Percy Hugh Oliver and Helen Buffington, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Friedlander and daughter, Lynn Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Brya, and daughters, Mary Brown (Ted), and Ann Driver (Davis), eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Tom was owner and CEO of Hobart Macintosh Paper Company, as well as Mayor of Lake Bluff, Illinois. He served on the board of Lake Forest Hospital, IL, First National Bank of Lake Forest, IL, Berea College, KY, Beaufort Memorial Hospital Foundation, SC, Friends of Caroline Hospice, SC and the Vestry of St. Helena's Anglican Church, SC.
Funeral services are being held at Saint Stephen's Anglican Catholic Church in Athens, Georgia on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM with burial in Lake Forest, Illinois.
