Alice M. O'Leary, 85

Beverly - Alice M. O'Leary age 85 of Beverly, died Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Blueberry Hill Nursing Facility after a long period of declining health. Alice was the daughter of the late Timothy A. O'Leary and Alice (Carson) O'Leary.

She was educated at St. Mary's Grammar and High Schools in Lynn. After graduating from Emmanuel College she returned to St. Mary's School where she spent many years teaching 6th Grade. Alice received her Master's Degree from Salem State College and taught 6th grade at the Goodyear School in Woburn, until her retirement from teaching. Subsequently she worked for several years as the Editor of the Eagle Tribune in South Boston.

Alice spent her leisure time doing needlework and reading. She also volunteered at Union Hospital and at Our Lady of the Assumption, Lynnfield, where she was a Communicant since 1973.

Alice's passion in life was her love for animals. In the past she had raised Kerry Blue Terriers and Burmese cats.

Alice was predeceased by her brother Timothy J. O'Leary of Hermosa Beach, CA, and her niece Kerry McKiernan of Peabody. She leaves her sister Kathleen McKiernan of Peabody a brother Brian O'Leary and his wife Marie of Beverly, four nephews; Matthew McKiernan and his wife Kara of Peabody, Michael McKiernan and his wife Jen of Salem, James McKiernan and his wife Nicole of Braintree, Timothy O'Leary of California, and one niece Aiven O'Leary of Lowell. She also leaves her dear cat Molly and her two beloved Cairn Terriers Neala and Rory who volunteered with Alice as therapy dogs at hospitals and rest homes.
