Andy Espinal Obituary

SALEM -- Andy Espinal, 23 of Salem, unexpectedly passed away the morning of August 24. Andy is survived by his beloved mother Maria Espinal and his father Eladio Peña, his loving siblings Wendy, Alexandra, Ivelisse, Elvin, Eliana, Eddy, Wilmi and Shaddai, his extended family, and many friends all throughout the Northshore. Andy's infectious personality, sense of humor and glowing smile will be remembered fondly by all that knew him. Andy loved to make others laugh hysterically, and was known for his smooth dance moves and unmatched lip syncing skills. Andy was a car and motorcycle enthusiast, an avid paintballer, and a multi-sport athlete. Andy had aspirations to join the U.S. Coast Guard and to one day open his own auto body shop. Andy, was a 2012 graduate of Salem High School and proud alumni of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem. At the Boys and Girls Club Andy was a very active member and he took advantage of many programs they offered. Andy enjoyed volunteering with club staff to help younger members with their homework, community service trips to serve meals to the clients of Life Bridge, and playing basketball with his 18 and Under "Young Soldiers"? teammates. In 2011, Andy played an instrumental role in winning the Northeast Boys Girls Club Championship with his teammates in a thrilling overtime victory over the West End Boys Girls Club. In recognition of Andy's upstanding morale character and his involvement at Boys and Girls Club he was nominated for and ultimately selected by staff to be the 2011 Youth of the Year. Andy made a profound impact on all that knew him, and he will be dearly missed by his friends, family, and community. Service information: His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the CONWAY, CAHILL-BRODEUR Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. For directions and on-line obituary, visit Ccbfuneral.com .
