Arthur B. Barreda, 85

Nahant - Arthur B. "Artie" Barreda, age 85 of Nahant, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday April 21, 2022.

Born in Boston and raised in Charlestown, he was the son of the late Manuel and Elizabeth (Friend) Barreda. He attended Charlestown public schools and then trade school. He had served for many years in the US Army Reserve and had lived in Nahant since the 1970s.

Arthur had worked in the Medical Imaging Field selling, installing, and upgrading equipment and ultimately owning his Imaging business. He installed the first imaging equipment in the Boston Area at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was passionate about his work and the people he met traveling the world and enjoyed telling stories of his time in Russia, Ukraine, Japan, and throughout the United States. It was during one of his trips to a trade show in Chicago that he met his late wife Jacqueline, whom he now joins in heaven.

He enjoyed gardening, boating, traveling, and always had an active project around the house. His greatest joy came when he spent time with his grandchildren and family. He loved telling stories, teaching his grandchildren one-liners, jokes, and magic tricks. Arthur's smile and laugh had a way of lighting up the room and his love of life was infectious.

Arthur was married three times and is survived by his children; Michael Barreda and his wife Jannelle, Susan Barreda, John Barreda and his wife Tami, Andrew Kellner and his wife Milly, Anne Marie Barreda, Rhiannon Barreda, Robert Barreda and his wife Angela, many grandchildren including, Andrew Hunt, Ben Piper, Nicole Hunt, Dakota Kellner, Elizabeth Underbrink, Gabriel Barreda, Tyler Kellner, and Jacqueline Barreda, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the beloved brother of the late Rev. Giles Barreda OFM and Dolores Morrill.
