Barbara E. Dylengoski

SALEM "? Mrs. Barbara Evelyn (Bowden) Dylengoski 96, of Salem, beloved wife of 60 years to the late Joseph R. Dylengoski, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at her home. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Chalmers and Jessie (Cogill) Bowden. She was raised and educated during her early school years in Lynn and East Hampstead, N.H.  She was a graduate of Newburyport High School (class of 1940). Mrs. Dylengoski returned to Lynn, attended Burdett Business school, and worked for the General Electric Company from 1941-1952.  She then left work to be at home and devote time to her family until 1966. She retired from her position as Manager of the Peabody Sears-Roebuck- Catalog Dept. in 1984. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Barbara was an avid reader who enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, puzzles and in more recent years found great pleasure in mastering Facebook and connecting with friends young and old. She was devoted to her family and cherished her time spent with her sons and grandchildren. She lived a long full life, filled with love. Barbara is survived by her sons, William Dylengoski of Hamilton and daughter-in-law Katrinka O'Brien of Beverly, Steven Dylengoski and his longtime partner Val Kocyba of Norwalk, Ct., her grandchildren, Kalish (Skip), Jacob and Corey Dylengoski, her great grandchildren, Soren, Jonah and Blake, her loving and caring niece Susan Kocur of Salem. She was the sister of the late Marion Kocur. Service information: Her friends and relatives are invited to her funeral service which will be held in THE O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM, Wednesday, Oct. 10th at 10 a.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
