Brady Ellis Obituary

Brady Robert Ellis, 6

Boxford - Brady Robert Ellis, most treasured son, proud Perkins student and superhero, ended his short but inspirational journey on Saturday, August 28, 2021. Born July 7, 2015 to Robert and Christine (Hogan) Ellis, six-year-old Brady triumphed through much adversity following a near SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) event at four and a half months. Although the once cheery and expressive infant lost his outward jubilance, Brady continued to be the heart and soul of his entire extended family and we know he felt the joy he was surrounded by.

A lover of neon colors and glitter, Brady could often be found making arts and crafts with his great Auntie Maria, baking with mom in the kitchen or watching football on Sundays with dad. Whether it was a jaunty bow tie made by his Aunt Maria Jean, one of his countless football jerseys or a spirited costume, Brady was always ready for any occasion that came his way. During his last year of life he discovered the exhilaration of shooting down a snowy hill on a sled, went on his first significant road trip, experienced the thrill of amusement park rides and got to get back out on the ice again with his New England Bombers hockey team. All of this was in addition to consistently being surrounded by the fun and wonderful chaos that comes with countless cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents who love fiercely and celebrate everything.

Perseverance was among Brady's greatest gifts. Due to the challenges he faced, each small task we take for granted was a monumental hurdle, yet one that he jumped nonetheless. He was beginning to be consistent in his use of switches for communication, was gaining incredible strength and head control in the difficult prone position and had been rocking his eye gaze program at school, even closing out the entire computer screen when he felt bored with what he was being asked to do. "Sassy" was the most frequent adjective used to describe Brady by his cherished Deafblind Program educators at Perkins School for the Blind.

Although he is no longer physically present in his personal little brown recliner, Brady now watches over his much beloved family who always made sure he had everything he needed, whether it was emotional, medical or material support. His family surrounded him with so very much love, including his grandparents, Hildegard Lang of Lynn, Mark and Margarete Hogan of Boxford and Robert and Joan Ellis of Alton Bay, NH. Maria Lang and Rita Lang, both of Lynn, were not only his great aunties but also his fairy godmothers. Brady was doted on by all of his aunts and uncles: Elizabeth and Brian Snider of Boxford, Maria and Andre Jean of Derry, NH, Patrick and Rachel Hogan of Aberdeen, NC, Michael and Kim Ellis of Peabody, Lauren and Richard Naugle of Lynn and Anthony Votano of San Diego, CA. Brady's cousins were his best friends, confidants and partners in crime. R.J, Ben N, Giulianna, Gabriella, Andre, Annie, Ben J, Jacob, Addison, Nora, Maggie, Emily, Hannah and Henry, will forever have their very own guardian angel.

Service Information: His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30AM in St. Pius V Church, Lynn, burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Boxford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 3:00PM-7:00PM in the Solimine Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn. Brady would have been so pleased to know that others would benefit in some small way in his name.
