1925 - 2022

Salem - Charles P Baletsa, 97, of Salem and formerly of Lynn, died Friday July 8 at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary (Pappachristou) Baletsa.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Peter and Stella (Connelli) Baletsa.

He was raised and educated in Lynn and upon marrying his wife Mary, has lived in Salem for the past 50 years.

After graduating from high school, Charlie enlisted in the United States Navy and served for over three years before his honorable discharge in 1946.

Following his military service, he started working for General Electric in Lynn as a draftsman, a career that lasted over 35 years before retiring.

Charles is survived by his stepchildren, Steve and his wife Angelina Mantsourani and Charles Mantsourani, all of Peabody and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepson, George Mantsourani and is daughter-in-law, Susan Mantsourani, his siblings, William "Bill" and his wife Elsie, Satori "Sid" and his wife Sophie, and Themistoches "Misty" and his wife Mercy Baletsa.

Service Information: A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, 54 So Common St Lynn to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 So Common St, Lynn, MA 01902.
