Charles Kirby Obituary
1957 - 2025
Lynn - Charles Gerard Kirby, age 68 of Lynn, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 27, 2025.
Born in Harvey, Illinois, he was the son of the late Richard M. and Dorothy A. (McQuade) Kirby. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and had also attended North Shore Community College in Danvers. Prior to returning to Lynn, Charles had lived in Peabody, Massachusetts, Concord, North Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
A member of IUCE Local 4, Boston, Charles had worked, until his retirement, as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 28 years at Independent Concrete Pumping in Wakefield, MA and also at Arrow Concrete Pumping In Rowley.
He was a Communicant of St. Mary's in Lynn and St. Ann's Parish in Peabody, the Lynn Senior Center and the Knights of Columbus, Council 70, Lynn.
Charles is survived by his children: Rachel M. Kirby of Haverhill, Erika L. McLeod and her husband Erik R. McLeod of Newton, NH, and Charles R. Kirby of Amesbury, his grandchildren Lochlan V. and Reighna L. McLeod, his former wife Cheryl A. Kirby of Amesbury, his siblings Richard M. Kirby Jr. and his wife Nancy Brown of Lowell, Mary Nussbaum and her husband Larry of PA, Paul Kirby and his wife Kim of NH, Elizabeth Ruiz of Lynn, John Kirby and his wife Diane of Swampscott, Michael Kirby and his wife Teresa of NH, Sarah Curtis and her husband Skip of Princeton, James Kirby and his wife Lori of Nahant, and David Kirby of Lynn, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was the son-in-law of the late Herbert E. and Lucy D. Brook.
Service Information: His Funeral will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 9:00am from the Solimine Funeral Home 426 Broadway, Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church, Lynn. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4:00PM-8:00PM.
