Christopher Coukos

PEABODY -- Mr. Christopher Coukos, of Peabody, died at the age of 95 on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Caliope (Bungeely) (Laganos) Coukos and the late Irene (Copoulos) Coukos. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School. Mr. Coukos lived in Lynn, Sedona, Ariz., Ft. Meyers, Fla., and most recently in Peabody. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and served on the USS Texas and on the Naval Station Casco Bay in Portland, Maine. He was employed as a tin knocker at the General Electric Company in Lynn. Before retiring in 1984 from the GE, he held the position of a planner. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Ft. Meyers, and the Hellenic-American Social Club, also in Ft. Meyers. He was a member of IUE Local 201 in Lynn. He remained active in his retirement, enjoying candlepin bowling, playing golf, fishing and skiing. He also enjoyed travel and dining out. His always felt that family was more important than monetary things. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children, Harry Coukos and his wife Helen of Lynnfield, John Coukos and his wife Elizabeth of Holliston, Jana Stone and her husband Scott of Boxford, Chris Laganos and his wife Yolanda of Sugar Hill, N.H., and San Jose, Costa Rica, Linda Laganos and her partner Susan Slaght of Beverly, and son-in-law Michael Wesson of Salisbury. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Katrina, Andrew, Christopher, John, Stephen, Adam and Nicole; his great-grandchildren, Noah, Liam, Ryan, John and Everley; and many nieces and nephews. He is the father of the late Marianne Wesson. He survived siblings Andrew Coukos, Mary Zafos, Fred Coukos, Marie Stratos, Penelope Xenelis and Nora Kazazis. Service information: Memorial visiting hours for Mr. Coukos will be held on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 from 4-6:30 p.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn. Immediately following (also within Solimine Funeral Home), a memorial service will be held from 6:30-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
