Dianne Bambacus Coukos

Dianne Bambacus Coukos, 82, of Richmond, died Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Steven Harry Coukos; her parents, Roland E. Bambacus and Helen (Miras) Bambacus; and a daughter, Maria Eleni Coukos.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Eleni Coukos Elder and her husband Jim, of Franklin, TN and Stephanie Coukos Burgess, of Mechanicsville, VA; one son, Harry Steven Coukos, of Pittsburgh, PA; one grandson, Steven Hunter Burgess, of Mechanicsville, VA; two brothers, Nick Bambacus and his wife Barbara of Henrico, VA, and Larry Bambacus and his wife Maria, of Goochland, VA.

Dianne lived a very full life. She was a native of Richmond, VA, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School. She attended James Madison College, and later in life received a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Pittsburgh. Dianne and Steven loved to entertain, and together they owned the "The Mousetrap" and "The Garrett" in Charlottesville, VA in the 1970s and 1980s. After Steven's death, she became very devoted to running The Mousetrap along with The Garrett and raising her four children. Dianne was a strong independent mother, not only to her own children, but also to others, and she had a passion for encouraging them in everything. She was a loving mother and a devoted grandmother. She enjoyed visiting with all her children and traveling to Greece with her family. Dianne was very charismatic, and people were naturally drawn to her. She was an extraordinary lady and will surely be missed.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Bliley's Funeral Home, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, VA, with a Trisagion Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. For condolences see www.blileys.com.
