Frances Bose Obituary
March 10, 1969 - January 27, 2026
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Frances Fisher Bose, who left us too soon on January 25, 2026. Fran was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Wood Fisher Jr.; her sister, Lisa Fisher Johnson; and her brother-in-law, Michael William Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Nancy McCall Spencer, and stepfather C. Douglas Spencer, Jr.; her children Lily Malina Bose of Houston, Texas, and Eva Mae Bose of Richmond; her niece Rachel Elizabeth Johnson and her husband Cody Jones of Rochester, New York, and her nephew Camm William Johnson and his wife Emmy Bowe of Richmond.
Fran was a graduate of Trinity Episcopal School and attended VCU, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Craft and Material Studies. She was skilled in a variety of artistic disciplines, including stained glass, pottery, and painting. She was particularly accomplished in jewelry and metalwork, with her work being featured in the Philadelphia Art Show. Her creative spirit and love of the arts will be remembered by all who knew her.
In recent years, Fran excelled in the collection and sale of antiques and other collectibles. Using her unique and stylish eye, she curated an impressive collection that ranged from folk art to vintage clothing.
A public service and remembrance of life will be held at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 11300 W. Huguenot Rd., Midlothian, VA 23113, on Monday, February 9th, at 1 pm with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Fran's memory to the Richmond SPCA or the Visual Arts Center of Richmond.
