Patricia Breedlove Alling

Patricia Breedlove Alling passed away at the age of 101 on January 19, 2026. She was born in Albany, New York, on December 7, 1924, the daughter of Horace and Margaret (McDonald) Breedlove. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Gordon Alling Sr.; her son, Gordon Alling Jr.; and brothers, "Breeze" and Thomas Breedlove. She is survived by daughters, Maureen Henry of Tavares, Florida, Sally Berry (Jim) of Stockton, California and daughter-in-law Lori Mattson (Gordon Jr.) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Dr. Mary Alling, Fredericksburg, Virginia, Seth Henry (Katrina), Tucson, Arizona, Christopher Berry, Stockton, California, and Kenneth Berry (Carrie), Folson, California; and eight great grandchildren, Samantha and Mikayla Henry, Taylor, Avery, Ellie, Brayden, Reese and Jake Berry. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Pat graduated from St. Peter's School of Nursing in Albany and received her BS degree from St. Joseph's College in Maine. She spent many years doing hospital nursing in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts before moving into Public Health in Connecticut and Virginia. She was an active DAR member and an enthusiastic genealogy researcher for her family history. Pat also willingly followed her husband into the woods and became a good camper and learned how to trench a tent! She treasured most her family and friends.

The family will host a viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2026, at Bliley's-Chippenham Funeral Home, 6900 Hull Street Rd., North Chesterfield, Va. 23224 (804) 545-6900. Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, February 17, at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Drive, North Chesterfield, Va. (804) 272-2948, followed by a burial at 2 p.m. at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, P.O.
