Lynn - Daniel R. "Dan" Hewitt, 40, of Lynn, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Salem Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 28, 1984, he was the son of Jeanette (Domey) Hewitt and the late Robert N Hewitt III.
Dan lived to be a husband, he would do anything for his wife, Cathy, who he loved more than anything and always put first. He was an amazing friend, had a great personality and was a role model to all of the children in his life. Dan had a beautiful soul, infectious smile that people gravitated to and could give a hug that soothed your heart, he liked to spread joy and in the past had loved playing Santa Claus. Professionally, Dan spent many years working as an Optician at the Vision Center at Walmart.
Dan will be dearly missed and is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Catherine (Vasey) Hewitt of Lynn; loving mother, Jeanette Hewitt of Lynn; his best friend and brother, Arthur Westaway, along with his wife, Nicole, and their son, Drake, of Salisbury, He is also survived by his aunts, Patricia Mallett and her husband Steve, of Concord, NH, Sherrie Hewitt Dobbins and her husband Mike, of Lynn; as well as Debbie Genova and her husband Guy of Portsmouth, Oh. Dan is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is pre-deceased by his grandparents David and Helen Domey and his father, Robert N Hewitt III.
Service Information: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, Lynn, MA 01904. A service will follow in the funeral home at 6:30 PM.
