David Colbert Obituary

Owner of North Shore BoatworksLYNNFIELD-David V. Colbert, 78, a Lynnfield resident for 58 years, died on Wednesday, September 23 at the Salem Hospital.Born in Somerville on October 19, 1930 he was the son of the late Nathan and Mildred (Foley) Colbert.Mr. Colbert was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1948. During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Army. He was the former owner of North Shore Boatworks in Revere and the former Commodore of the Lynn Yacht Club.Mr. Colbert was the husband of Helen M. (Kelley) Colbert. He was the father of Helen Marcotti and husband Thomas of Peabody, Ann Angelli and husband William of Lynn, Thomas Colbert and wife Elizabeth of Westborough, Matthew Colbert and wife Rosemarie of Sebastian, FL, William Colbert and wife Heather of Newton, NH, Peter Colbert and wife Lisa of Byfield and the late David V. Colbert, Jr. He was the brother of Charlotte Quinn of Wayland, Edward Colbert of Concord and the late James Colbert. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Service Information: His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Grove and Salem Streets, Lynnfield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday from 4 to 8pm. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the David V. Colbert Jr. Scholarship Fund, c/o Malden Catholic High School, 94 Crystal St., Malden, MA 02148
