Edward Desrosier Obituary

Edward Reginald Desrosier, 90

1933 - 2023

Venice, FL - Edward Reginald Desrosier, 90, passed away peacefully August 29th in Vencie, FL. He was born on August 9, 1933 to Mary (Zarecki) Desrosier and Reginald Desrosier in Lynn, MA. After graduating from Lynn Classical High School in Lynn, he went on to join the Air Force and was stationed in Washington DC. After being honorably discharged from the service, he worked many years as a printer in the newspaper industry before retiring at age 58.

At the age of 16 he first laid eyes on Lorraine Gilbert and it was love at first sight. They married in 1953 and recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Ed is survived by his wife, 'Sweet Lorraine', currently residing in Venice, FL; son Edward Desrosier and his wife Carol, of Marblehead; and three daughters, Diane Callahan and her husband John of Norton, MA; Carol Scotton and her husband Vincent, of Venice, FL; and Susan Stephens and her husband Thomas, of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Edward Desrosier, Janet Perrotta, Kathryn LeFevre, Daniel Callahan, Emily Callahan, Ryan Tucker, Kelly Tucker, Nicole Tucker, Katie Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Sarah Tennant, Melissa Stephens, Theo Stephens and Thomas Stephens; 12 great grandchildren; brothers Robert Desrosier of Salem, MA and Paul Desrosier and his wife Sandy of Lynn, MA; sister Mary Lou Morris of Merrimac, MA.

For most of the past 25 years, he and Lorraine divided their time between Wolfeboro, NH and Naples, FL. Ed greatly enjoyed vegetable gardening and took much pride in the tomatoes he grew. He also had a passion for the ocean and spent many years lobstering out of Swampscott Harbor. He was beloved by dogs and kids, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren with whom he loved to joke and be silly. He will most be remembered for his humor. He would tell jokes and laugh harder than anyone else which made everyone laugh even more.
