Frances Dee

Lifelong Lynn resident, assemblerLYNN-Frances H. (Upton) Dee, 92, of Lynn, died Monday at home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Ashley E. Dee, who died in March of 2009.Born in Lynn, daughter of the late John I. and Frances (Condon) Upton and step-daughter of the late Ruth Upton, she was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and a lifelong resident of the city.She was employed for Shetland Manufacturing as an Assembler for many years. She served as a shop steward and was a member on the Executive Board of Local 257 IUE. She also spent several years with Cambridge Screw as an assembler.In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her interests were drum corps contests and line dancing. She became a devoted drum corps fan and avid line dancer and had a wonderful sense of humor.She leaves her children John Dee of Peabody, Allan A. Dee of Lynn, James W. Dee and his wife Heather of Lynn, Frances H. Shore of No. Conway, NH, Patricia A. Berry of Greenfield, Christine Pryor and her husband Geronimo of Lynn, and Sharon E. Russell and her husband Richard of Pocatello, Idaho, her sister Helen Hattem of Simi Valley, CA, step-brothers Steven Upton of Lynn, and John Upton of Stow, VT, step-sisters Arlene Evans of NC, and Betty Davis of Lynn, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late William, Thomas and Richard Upton and Lillian Dee.Service Information: The funeral will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at Noon. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
