1936 - 2023

Lynn & Ossipee, NH - Fredrick H. Wonoski, (87) a long-time resident of Lynn, MA and Ossipee, NH, passed after a brief illness on September 3, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Fredrick, fondly known as Fred, was born to Michael and Sophie Wonoski, on January 16, 1936. He was a talented athlete who loved playing hockey. Known as the Green Ghost at Lynn Classical High School, he went on to play hockey with the North Shore all-stars, Colorado College, signed with the Bruins minor league team and was chosen for the US National Hockey Team where he skated in Europe and Russia. After his hockey career, Fred served his country in the Army for four years. He then went on and spent over thirty years at Polaroid Corporation as a Master Electrician.

But that was all prelude to what mattered to Fred – his family. He was the loving husband of Joyce A. Lucier (passed). He was also the proud father of Jil-Lyn Wonoski of Melrose, MA, Paul Wonoski of Lynn, MA, Paula Reynolds (Wonoski) of Ponte Verda, FL and Steven (Bucky) Wonoski of Peachtree City, GA.

Heaven to Fred was time on the lake with the entire clan including in-laws Greg, Kierann, and Greg yet most importantly, his grandchildren - Jake, Andrea, Breana, Conner, Sophie, Alex, Nadia, and Stacia.

Hard work. Always being there for others. And family, family, and family.

That was Fred.

He leaves an unfillable void.

Service Information: Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street, Lynn, MA, from 4 to 8PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his Funeral Service on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10AM, at the Solimine Funeral Home on 67 Ocean Street, Lynn, MA.
