Larry P. Lathum Sr., 86
1937 - 2024
East Hampstead, NH - Larry P. Lathum, Sr, 86 of East Hampstead, NH, formerly of Lynn, passed away Wednesday, February 14, at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth M. Lathum.
Larry was born in 1937 in Durant, Oklahoma, son of the late Arthur P. Lathum and Ida B. (Benedict) Lathum. He was raised and educated in Oklahoma, and moved up to Massachusetts after serving in the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force he was stationed at Pease AFB, in New Hampshire; Tulle Greenland AFB; and Carswell AFB in Texas.
He went on to work as an auto mechanic for many years with a number of auto dealerships. Ultimately retiring from Ira Motor Group, Danvers in late 2002. While living in Lynn, he was an active communicant at St. Pius V Church. He also enjoyed wood working, gardening, traveling, working on cars in his spare time, but most importantly spending time with his family.
He is survived by one son; Larry P. Lathum, Jr and his wife Jan of Attleboro; four daughters; Kathleen P. Lathum of East Hampstead, NH, Carolyn A. Myers of Londonderry, NH, Phyllis M. St. Pierre and her husband Kenneth of Londonderry, NH, and Mary E. Genest and her husband James, Jr. of Stoughton; his grandchildren; Sarah Lathum and her boyfriend Bob Gerety, Emily (Myers) Panacopoulos and her husband Dimitri, Rachel (Myers) Blais, Danielle (St. Pierre) Rappa and her husband Christopher, Jennifer St. Pierre and James Genest III, his great-grandchildren, Cove and Isabell Blais, Arya and Mila Panacopoulos, Colby, Evan, and Zoey Rappa; his brother, Joe Lathum and his wife, Mary; a sister-in-law, Regina Lathum, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Scott Myers, and a brother, Tim Lathum.
Service Information: Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, February 20, from 4-6PM at the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn. His funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 21, at St. Pius V Church, Maple St., Lynn at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Online guestbook at www.Solimine.com.

I knew Larry back in '56-'57. His wife Betty and I were friends back then. Larry was a part of a group from Portsmouth AF base that visited Lynn quite frequently Betty loved him from day 1 and never let go. lol I unfortunately I let mine go. Regret that for the rest of my life! Larry was a super nice person and very handsome. May he rest in peace. Sending best wishes to his family
