U.S. Navy veteran, longtime Red Sox employeeLYNN-Lawrence Corea, age 83, of Lynn, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at his home, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane (Hickey) Corea, and the son of the late Frank and Amelia (Orlando) Corea. Born and raised in Chelsea, he has lived in Lynn for the past 50 years.He was a graduate of Everett Vocational & Technical High School. Mr. Corea was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He worked for the Veterans Administration for many years as a property manager. He also worked over 60 years for the Boston Red Sox since he was 12 years old. First, as a bat boy, the as a club house boy and finally in ticket sales. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Valladollid Council # 70, Lynn. He enjoyed walking, and time spent with his family, especially his grandson Tom.Mr. Corea is survived by his daughter Joanne DeVeau & her husband Robert of Lynn and a son Lawrence Corea Jr. and his wife Linda of Lynn. He also leaves his brother Ernest Corea and his wife Catherine of Chelsea, sister in law Dorothy Corea, brother in law John Peskey, cousins Jean and Francis Morrison, several nieces & nephew. He was the brother of the late Frank and Robert Corea, and the brother in law of the late Evelyn Corea, Ruth Peskey, John and Ruth Hickey.Service Information: His funeral will be held from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN & RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St. (Rt1A) Lynn on Thursday at 8 a.m., followed by funeral mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund, Attn: Contributors Services, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
