Lorraine Desrosier Obituary

Lorraine A. Desrosier, 88
Swampscott - Lorraine A. Desrosier, 88, of Swampscott, MA, Wolfeboro, NH, and Naples, FL, passed away on Christmas day, December 25, 2023. She was the daughter of Agnes (Healey) and Francis Gilbert. We firmly believe that "Sweet Lorraine" went to join her beloved husband, Ed, whom we lost in August 2023. Mom was a devout Catholic and inspired by her deep and abiding faith; we know they are together again. They were childhood sweethearts, growing up in the same neighborhood in Lynn.
After raising four children in Swampscott, Lorraine embarked on a new journey, pursuing her education and becoming a registered nurse. Her sharp intellect and unwavering dedication led her to the position of director of nursing at Jesmond Nursing Home. Her career was a testament to her loving and caring nature, as she treated all her patients as if they were family. Her impact was profound, with many still sharing stories of how she positively influenced their lives. What a remarkable legacy to leave behind!
For a quarter of a century, Lorraine and Ed split their time between Wolfeboro, NH, and Naples, FL. One of her greatest joys was when her grandchildren graced her with their presence. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and the memories they created together will be cherished forever. Her role as Nana was a testament to her boundless love and devotion to her family.
Lori is survived by a son, Edward Desrosier, and his wife, Carol of Marblehead, and three daughters, Diane Callahan and her husband, John of Norton, MA, Carol Scotton and her husband, Vincent of Venice, FL, and Susan Stephens and her husband, Thomas, of Naples, FL. Grandchildren Edward Desrosier, Janet Perrotta, Kathryn LeFevre, Daniel Callahan, Emily Callahan, Ryan Tucker, Kelly Tucker, Nicole Tucker, Katie Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Sarah Tennant, Melissa Stephens, Theo Stephens, Thomas Stephens, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Service Information: Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 9AM from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St (Rt 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott at 10AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Memorial visitation will be on Thursday May 2, 2024 from 4-7PM. Those who prefer may make donations the food pantry at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, PO Box180, Wolfeboro, NH 03894-0180. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com

I graduated with Lorraine from SMH class of `52. Sweet is the best way to describe her. She is fondly remembered as an endearing classmate, indeed. My condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.
