Lucy C. Marengi

SALEM - Mrs. Lucy C. (Leo) Marengi, age 88, of Salem, died Monday at her home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur Marengi.Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (DiFillipo) Leo. She was raised in the North End of Boston and Lynn, and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1944. She had lived in Salem since 1966.Lucy worked as a bookkeeper for Coastal States Petroleum Company in Revere until her retirement in 1991.She was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially family dinner every Sunday.She is the mother of Karen Collins, Arthur Marengi and his wife Diane, and Debra Blair and her husband Mark, all of Salem; the grandmother of Samantha Trunfio and her husband Jody, Alissa Silva and her husband Kevin, Matthew Marengi and his wife Dr. Erin Marengi, Dr. Nathan Marengi and his wife Andrea, Dr. Adam Marengi and his wife Dr. Joyce Marengi, Alexander Blair, Zachary Blair and Megan Blair; great grandmother of six great-grandchildren; sister of Teresa LeBlanc, Jane Mullins, Anthony Leo, Robert Leo and the late John Leo and Josephine Palmieri; she also leaves many nieces and nephews.Service information: Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
