Mary C. Brienzo, 91

Lynn - Mary C. (Fogarty) Brienzo, age 91 of Lynn, died at Massachusetts General Hospital on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. She was the wife of the late James A. Brienzo.

Born and raised in Brockton, Mary was the daughter of the late Thomas and Celia (Herbert) Fogarty. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1949, and had lived in Lynn since 1954.

Mary had worked for the Lynn DPW until her retirement in 1997. She was a longtime Communicant of Holy Family Parish and a member and former treasurer of the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Joseph Church. Mary was also a member of Mass Senior Action committee, City Hall Retirees, and Santa's helping hands.

She is survived by her son James T. Brienzo and daughter Rosemary Provencher, both of Lynn, three brothers Tom Fogarty and his late wife Marie, of California, Alfred Fogarty of Duxbury, and Kevin Fogarty of Brockton, three grandchildren Kristine Provencher Cunningham, Jason Provencher, and Michael Provencher, and three great grandchildren Kirstyn and Connor Cunningham, Catilaya Provencher and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late AnnMarie Brienzo Swenbeck.

Service Information: Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 28, 2023 from 9:00AM-10:30AM in the Solimine Funeral Home 67 Ocean St., Lynn, which will be followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM in Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
