Mary Sweeter Obituary

PEABODY ? Mary E. (Hanna) Sweeter , 56, beloved wife of Kevin Sweeter, died peacefully at her home after a brief battle with cancer, on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Lynn , she was the daughter of the late Malcomb ?John? and Elizabeth (Card) Hanna of Lynn. She grew up in Lynn, then graduated from Lynn English High School. She attended North Shore Community College where she graduated with a degree in education. She was a pre-school teacher with L.E.O. Head Start in Lynn for over 30 years, and the last two years with Catholic Charities Child Care in Peabody. Mary loved teaching and working with children, and was very devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed living a quiet and simple life, going to small shows, and rock music. She enjoyed to dress up and decorate for Halloween and Christmas. She is survived by her husband Kevin Sweeter of Peabody, with whom she shared 38 years together with 27 years married; a son and two daughters, John D. Hanna of Swampscott, Nikki E. Sweeter and Karri E. Sweeter both of Peabody; two granddaughters, Ryann E. Hanna and Falyn E. Calef; a brother William Hanna of California, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Service information : Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Tuesday, Nov.8, 2016 from 5?8 p.m. in the CONWAY, CAHILL-BRODEUR Funeral Home , 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
