Lynn, MA - Melissa J. (Cinnamond) Murphy, age 46, of Lynn, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston after a 20 year battle with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. Melissa was the beloved wife of Terrence Murphy and mother of Kyle Sean Murphy. Born February 25, 1977, in Newton, NJ, she was the daughter of James Cinnamond and the late Joanne (Woodburn) Cinnamond. Melissa had one sister, the late Tammy Cinnamond, the mother of Johnathan and Isabella Pacheco of New Bedford, MA. Tammy died on February 20, 2021 of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension as did their mom Joanne at the age of 27.
Melissa and Terry married on February 6, 2004 and she was unofficially adopted by the Murphy family; the late Douglas Murphy and Mary Ellen Murphy Johnson. Melissa had 2 Murphy family brothers, Doug and James and 2 Murphy family sisters, Erin and Kate.
Melissa Graduated from Lynn English High School in 1996 and played basketball there.
She was a loving and kind daughter-in-law, to Mary Ellen and Charles Johnson and family, including Mike and Sarah, Sean and Cheri, and Kevin and Lisa.
Melissa leaves her sister-in-law, Erin Murphy, her brother-in-law, Doug Murphy and niece and nephew, Meaghan and Brayden Murphy, her sister-in-law, Kate (O'Leary) Hinchey and her husband John and nieces, Mea and Stella and nephew, Jameson, and her brother-in-law, James Murphy and his wife Vita and nephews, Jamie and Audi and niece, Charlotte. Melissa had a nurse cousin, Lisa Coulon who was devoted to her care. She also had lifelong friends, Melinda, Debbie, Nicole, Sarah and Kristen.
Service Information: A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11a.m. in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St. (Rt. 1A), Lynn. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Lynn.
