Pantelis Kalantzis, 84

1937 - 2022

Lynn, MA - Pantelis Kalantzis, age 84, of Lynn, passed away on Tuesday January 18, 2022 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Vasillo (Bakis) Kalantzis, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born and raised in Pellana, Sparta, Greece, he was the son of the late John and Efstathia (Merakoulia) Kalantzis. He came to the United States in 1971 and had resided in Lynn for many years.

Pantelis was a longtime employee of Old Neighborhood Foods. He loved gardening, making wine, and gatherings with family and friends. He was a dedicated sports fan, supporting all of the local teams as well as his favorite Greek Soccer team. He will be remembered as an honest, hardworking, generous, loving man. He will be dearly missed and forever loved and respected.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his two sons; John and Elias Kalantzis; his sister Athina Ziavras; sister-in-law; Katerina Kalantzis; his nephews, Peter and John Kalantzis; as well as many nieces and nephews in the United States and Greece. He was the brother of the late Konstantinos and Elias Kalantzis.

Service Information: His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11AM in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 S. Common St, Lynn. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 9:30AM-11AM, prior to the service.
