Raymond E. Bourgeois Sr.

LYNN - Mr. Raymond E. "Oily" Bourgeois Sr., age 89, of Lynn, died Wednesday at his home after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Rose M. (Perrone) Bourgeois, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Emile and Ethel (Gaudet) Bourgeois. He lived in Lynn for the greater part of his life and attended St. Jean's School in Lynn. He and his wife had lived in Salem for 10 years before returning to Lynn in 1960.Raymond served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked in sales for FB Harris Corporation in Lynn for 37 years until his retirement in 1989. He was also the owner of RE Bourgeois Sr. Company, a private industrial sales company until last year.He enjoyed spending time at his second home in Conway, N.H. and also enjoyed his trips to Foxwoods. He and his wife loved traveling, especially to Disney World. He was an incredible handyman. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Raymond E. Bourgeois Jr. and his wife Mary of Billerica, Richard J. Bourgeois and his wife Debra of Conway, N.H. and Randall J. Bourgeois Sr. and his wife Kim of Lynn; one daughter, Rosanne Bourgeois and her spouse Diane Muise of Westford; two sisters, Terrie Doucette of Lynn and Jan Salone of Danvers; as well as six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Renee Bourgeois and Robin Bourgeois, and was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.Service information: His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
