Robert L. Modini

LYNN -- Robert L. Modini, age 69, of Lynn, died peacefully on Wednesday after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of Kathleen (Delehanty) Modini, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Henry J. and Maria (Nasini) Modini. A lifelong Lynn resident, he was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1966. Robert served in the United States Army from 1968-1971. He worked as an air freight dispatcher for Scolly Trucking and Eagle Air Freight until his retirement in 2015. He was a member of the Peabody-Lynn Elks Lodge 1409, and was an avid golfer and bowler. He will be remembered as a good and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Standish and her husband Todd of Lynn; his son, Daniel Modini and his wife Jennifer of Saugus; his daughter-in-law, Amy Modini of Beverly; as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Robert M. Modini. Service information: His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn.
