Lynn - William P. "Bill" Rourke, age 80, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his longtime companion, Laura, by his side. He was the son of the late Burton J. and Ellen L. (Myers) Rourke. He spent the majority of his life living in his childhood home in Lynn. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, and also attended Northeastern College.
Bill worked as an electrician for Norelco and Salem Hospital, and eventually began his own business, William Rourke Electric. He had one of the earliest Master Electrician's licenses in the North Shore area. Bill was an avid reader and a World War I and World War II history buff. He enjoyed attending a civil war club and was involved with Lynn Classical's reunion planning committee for many years. He had an unusual and wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke with people. The only things he loved more than smoking were his dogs and visiting his daughters.
He is survived by his longtime significant other, Laura Vialmin of Lynn; his daughters Kathleen Rourke of New Mexico and Colleen Rourke and her husband Matthew Pavolaitis of California; his cousin, Mary McAdams of California, as well as Laura's children, Paul Prideaux and his wife Beth and Cristina Vialmin-Eldridge and her husband Jim; and Laura's grandchildren, Christopher, Anna and Patrick.
Service Information: His memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10AM-12PM in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn, with a memorial service beginning at 12PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com
