He retired and moved to Connecticut to be closer to family, and became an avid bowler, joining many leagues. Bill was also a member of the Ascendus Lodge.

Connie,
Wow, just hearing about Bill's passing. Bill always had a friendly hello whenever we saw him.
He made us laugh when we would all be out working in our yards. And he would say to us
"I ain't no farmer."
We're so sorry for you loss. May he rest in peace.

Bill, this a different kind of a condolence letter, but I want to tell you now that you are gone, what I never told you before. I want you to know that I was so surprised of how fast you went to be with our Creator. I just can´t believe that the last time we saw you at the convalescence home in Meriden, would be be the very last time. I truly enjoyed our conversations in the morning on Grandview Ave when I used to walk Jax. It was your third walk already, and me? It was my first and only. Although you look ok to me, except the times that you were vividly tired, you always said to me that walking was good and was very importante to keep on doing it, for more ways than one. Once you even said "this stubborn pouch" while point to your waist. I looked forward to those conversations as if I they were the highlight of my day. From them I learned so much about you, Connie , whom you spoke all of the time so highly of, your family, your Vietnam days, your many jobs and so on. You were an admired friend, a gentle gentleman and I miss your kind and engaging attitude. Your passing affected me tremendously. I just wish I had met you before I did. Good bye my friend. I hope to see you again some day
Ps my wife told me that it did not matter how many times she saw you, you always asked her about me.

So sorry to hear about my friend Billy. We were pretty friendly down here at GE. Always liked keeping an eye on him. Billy and I went and saw Johnny Rivers back in 2016 at the Lynn auditorium. We loved our music. Was really happy when he finally left and headed off to see his grand children. God bless ya Billy boy
