Dear Evelyn,
Our sincere condolences on Case's passing away. We will always remember Case for the time we worked together as business partners on Milkmaid Dairy with fond memories. Looking back at that time we had a lot of fun together. I will never forget when we used to buy loads of hay that were "three high". All the melba weeds in them made them hard to handle, but the cows were still giving milk! Case taught me alot about being a smart business man. Sometimes we didn't agree, but we would always came to a mutual agreement. Case was always excited about a good deal, so every morning even before the gates opened, he was at the hay lot waiting to put an offer on some hay. Even if he didn't get the deal, he would go back later and see if it was still there and make another offer. If he would get the hay, it would make his day, and he would talk about it for many weeks. Case always told me, "It is easy to buy a good cow and pay the price, but it's not easy to buy a good cow cheap." We will always remember going out to dinner at the Sycamore Inn on Saturday nights and Case picking up the tab. We greatly appreciate that Case chose to take us on as a partner in dairy business. We will always remember him with a smile.

My family and I send our heartfelt condolences to all of you. Growing up in the Chino area, I often got to visit Julia and stay overnight in your beautiful and loving home on the dairy on Edison Ave. Now as an adult, when in that area, I still drive by and reflect on those times. Mr. De Vries was an outgoing, gregarious man who loved his family and friends very much. Most likely, he is now in heaven visiting with my mom and dad speaking in Fries, having coffee and a delicious cookie. They are all discussing cows and great land deals. Love, Annie Bokma Scott
