Charles J. MacDougall

1939 - 2021

July 25, 1939 - August 30, 2021 Charles was born in Raton, NM to John MacDougall and Marquerite (Eastham) MacDougall, the last of 3 boys born to this union. He grew up in Raton, NM after spending his early years in the mining towns of Van Houton/Dawson, NM. He joined the Navy for 4 years and was in the National Guard for 2 years from which he was honorably discharged. Charles moved to Boulder CO, in January 1962 to start a new job. He worked in concrete and masonry until the summer of 1962 then began a job for Coca Cola Bottling. He found his true passion and lifetime career in refrigeration, attended AC/refrigeration school in Roswell, NM in 1968. He graduated from that training in 1970 and accepted a position with ARKLA-Servel which entailed a move to Kentucky where he was responsible for several states in AC/refrigeration for that company. Charles was then transferred to California where he lived the remainder of his life. Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman, and did these hobbies frequently over his lifetime. In his early years in California, Charles was an active member of the BPOE in West Covina. He was in a bowling league and loved to study the science of and watch the horses run. Charles was married to Sarah Allen on June 9, 1962 at Grace United Methodist Church in Des Moines, NM. To this union were born 3 children: Charlene, Diana, and John. Charles married Patricia Nance on May 9, 1986, and lived in Chino until his death. Charles was predeceased by his parents, brothers John MacDougall, Alan MacDougall, wife Patricia MacDougall, and son-in-law, H. Kirk Gilbert. Survivors include daughters, Charlene Brown (Russell), Diana Gilbert, and son John MacDougall; grandchildren are Valerie Gossage (Kevin), Kevin Brown (Jessica), Jessica Skaggs (Eric), and Lauren Glover (Lance); and 3 great grandchildren. Upon marrying Patricia Nance, he gained 6 more children, Bobby Stockwell, Ricky Stockwell, Ronnie Stockwell, and Shanna Stockwell, as well as Chris Nance (Helen) and Jaime Bohnke. This union produced more grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as leaving behind many other relatives and friends. Charles led a very full and love filled life, and was loved by many. Everywhere he went, there were folks touched by him over the years, who knew and loved him dearly. Memorial services at 11:00 AM, November 12, 2021 Todd Memorial Chapel - Pomona 570 N.
