Gloria Garcia Obituary

October 14, 1945 - April 6, 2023 On April 6, 2023, Gloria Hortenzia Garcia passed away peacefully in Puyallup, Washington, with her children by her side. She was born in Prescott, Arizona, on October 14, 1945. She grew up in Douglas, Arizona before moving to Colton, California in the early 1960's. She met and married her first husband, Albert Perez, in 1963, had two children, Albert, and Cyndee "Bonnie", and moved to Fontana, California where they raised their family. Gloria worked hard for and proudly received her cosmetology license in the early 1970's and went on to have a very successful career as a beautician, including winning many awards. After retiring from cosmetology, she managed Sally's Beauty Supply in Montclair for several years. She moved to Washington in 1997, where she married David Garcia. She loved the beauty of the State and the rainy weather and remained there with David until her passing. Those who knew her would agree she had a beautiful singing voice and sounded just like Edie Gorme. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many who considered her a surrogate mother and grandmother. She had a huge heart and throughout her life, would open her home to those in need of a place to stay. She was known in her apartment complex for making Thanksgiving dinner for anyone who didn't have a place to go. She never met a stranger. She was an avid crafter and could make art out of anything. She left her family a lifetime of drawings, and mementos to cherish. She had a great sense of humor and had the ability to make you laugh even when she wasn't trying. She enjoyed reading her bible and making her daily phone calls to family and friends. She loved her animals Precious, Coco, Peanut and Bella dearly and was an avid Seattle Mariners fan. Her legacy to serve others lives on in her children and grandchildren. Gloria is survived by her husband, David Garcia; son Albert Perez (Leticia); daughter Cyndee Freeman (Sam); daughter Corrine Gonzales; grandchildren Anthony Perez (Meredith), Tara Davis, Elaina Buffon (Brian), Joshua Davis (Brittany), Elise Thompson (Joe), Matthew Perez; Scott Freeman, Brian Freeman, Roman Gonzales, Noah Gonzales, Destinee Gonzales, Diana Gonzales, Selena Gonzales, Lil Noah Gonzales, Joseph Gonzales, and Angel Gonzales; great grandchildren Brandon, Jackson, Leona, Riley, Crew, Gia, and Isla; brothers Jess Hernandez (Elaine), Adrian Duron (Connie), Lupe Duron, Lily Gonzales, Rosie Duron and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
