Jackson Carrari
Beloved wife, mother, sister, grand- mother and great-grandmother, joined our Lord on the 18th of March, at age 78.
Phyllis was born on January 24th, 1937, in Pomona, California to George and Vivian Jackson. She grew up in Alta Loma with her sister, Georgia. It was there that Phyllis met the love of her life, Ferruccio Joseph (Joe) Carrari and was married in 1956, while Joe was in the Navy.
During their 58 years of marriage, Phyllis and Joe lived in Alta Loma, Long Beach, Argentina, Napa and Soledad. In the early 70s, they made the decision to live their lives in Santa Barbara County where they worked together to establish Carrari Vineyards.
In 1999, Phyllis and Joe moved to Rancho Alamo, where Phyllis spent her final years taking care of her husband, friends and pets: making exceptional meals, and looking over the green hills. Rancho Alamo is where Phyllis drew her last breath. She is survived by her husband, her children: George, Ronald, Linda and Tina; her grandchildren: Tiffany, Anna, Gina and Joseph; her great grandson Giles and her sister Georgia Ballard of Shaw, Mississippi.
Phyllis was best known for her resourcefulness, her culinary talent, her quick wit and her dedication to her family. Now she has her wings.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 29th. Friends may contact the family for details. In lieu of flowers it was Phyllis' wish that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Dignity Hospice of Santa Maria. God Bless.
