Richard Coale Obituary

RICHARD RENDELL COALE
A courageous, fun-loving guy was taken from this world on August 5, 2012, after a long fight with melanoma cancer. Richard was 54 and for those who knew him, he made every minute count and never met a stranger.
With his wife Robin to whom he was married for 32 years, Richard lived at Crystalaire in Llano for the past six years. He was born in Fontana in 1957, but spent his younger life in Upland. He and Robin moved to the high desert 26 years ago. He started school at Foothill Knolls, went on to Upland Jr. High and graduated from Upland High School in 1976. While at Upland he played trumpet in the marching and jazz bands and played varsity basketball.
After his grandparents, Harold and Gladys Easton died, he became the patriarch of the family and was always "on call" to help with any challenge. He was a true patriot and
loved his country.
He was a loving, devoted father to his son Joshua (Courtney) and Megan Coale and was always willing to take on jobs in the Sunset Little League and Serrano High School sports. He made sure family and friends were included in the many gatherings he planned.
Richard was in the lumber business for 35 years. He started with Rugg Lumber in Upland and was sales manager for Huff Lumber when he passed. He also got great satisfaction in years spent as a CDF paidcall-firefighter for Station 10 in Phelan, CA Besides his wife and children, Richard will be dearly missed by his siblings Brian Coale (Aubryn and Kaili) of Rancho Cucamonga, Deanna Coale (Jonathan and Rebecca) of Phelan, his parents Richard and Lenore Coale of Phelan and Aunt Irene Karsten (Jim) of Hesperia. Robin's mother Bonnie Croy, father Ron Olson (Evelyn) sister Susan Olson, brothers Tim Olson and EClampus Vitus camping buddy Danny Olson. He had close cousins and nieces and nephews that were a part of his life. His great sense of humor, big loving heart and "from the gut" laugh will be greatly missed. But what wonderful memories we will always have of him tucked away in our hearts.
Richard's service will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Ave., Riverside, 92505, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 16.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider donations to the American Cancer Society or Aim at Melanoma.
