Robert Fuller Obituary

Passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 29, 2008 in Claremont, CA. Bob was born in Portola, CA on February 13, 1926 to Amos and Euphyna Fuller. He grew up in Northern Sierras where he developed his life-long passions for fly-fishing and story tel ling. He graduated from Oroville Union High School in 1944. Bob first attended the University of Redlands, and then transferred to the University of Southern California where he was in the Naval Officer Candidate program and pledged Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. A loyal USC football fan, Bob delighted in watching Trojan victories over UCLA and Notre Dame. Bob married his University of Redlands sweetheart, Ardean, in 1948 and they had over 55 years together until her death in 2004. Bob had a long successful ca reer as a Fire Protection Engineers and served on the Professional Engineer License Examination committee. A long time resident of San Marino, CA, Bob enthusiastically participated in his community. He was Governor for the San Gabriel Valley Colony of the Mayflower Society, an active member of the San Marino City Club, and a member of the San Marino Community Church, where he was a deacon and sang with the choir for over 30 years. Bob also was an avid golfer, and he was especially proud of hitting a hole in one. He and Ardean traveled extensively, and Bob loved sampling different international cuisines. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him well. Bob is survived by his son Randall Robert Fuller (Janet) of Rancho Cucamonga, daughter Diane Fuller Watson (Robert) of San Marino, granddaughter Blair Watson and grandsons Spencer Watson, Robert Fuller and Justin Fuller. He is also survived by his sister Cora Martin of Lincoln, CA. The interment ceremony will be at 11 am on Tuesday, December 16 at Hills ide Memorial Park in Redlands, CA. A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held at the San Marino Community Church at 11 am on Saturday, January 3, 2009. Memorials for Robert W. Fuller may be made to the San Marino Community Church or the American Heart Association.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We were so blessed to have known your father. We will always remember the fishing stories, and numerous other stories as well, along with his incredible sense of humor. Thank you for allowing us to share in that with all of you.
