Wayne Leavitt

1938 - 2022

Wayne Leavitt, born in Nephi, Utah on February 17, 1938, passed away from complications after a fall on June 22, 2022, at the age of 84. A longtime resident of Ontario, CA, he was a beloved and highly respected member of the community. A world traveler, he especially enjoyed traveling with his family and best friends. He enjoyed musicals, opera, and playing the saxophone with the Chaffey Community Band. He loved art and photography, along with crossword puzzles and reading historical nonfiction. He graduated from University of California, Riverside and was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a founding member of the Ontario Parkway Kiwanis Club and served 50 years. He was also a longtime member of Ontario Elks Lodge #1419. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby, and daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Kevin Payment (granddaughter Lindsay), Coleen and Hector Martinez (grandsons William and Benjamin). He is also survived by brother, David Leavitt, sisters, Bonnie Havens, Betty Havens, and predeceased by sister, Patreecia Thomas.
