ALBERT M. SALGADO

Albert M. Salgado, 81, of Calexico, CA was born on April 7, 1941 and peacefully pass away on July 29, 2022.

Albert graduated from Calexico High School and joined the military in 1961. While in the military he received medals for good conduct and Markmanship. In 1968, he was a Firefighter for the N.A.F Firecrash and Rescue in El Centro, CA for 9 years. He started his long career with U.S. Customs for 19 years as a Senior Inspector and Firearms Instructor. In addition, he was in charge of the Customs Explorers and the Color Guard which was his pride and joy. Albert's hobby and passion in life was competion shooting and his knowledge of ammunition reloading.

In September 1963, he married Christina Rivas and would spend 58 years plus together in Calexico, CA. Albert was much beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Albert is survived by his wife, Christina Salgado; sons, Chris Salgado and Gary Salgado; daughter, Monica Salgado; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grand children.

Visitation will be held on August 17, 2022 at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico, CA at 6 p.m. Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Mass will be on August 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico, CA Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetary in Calexico, CA.

Albert, sorry wasn´t there. We just learned of your gaining your wings to heaven. We laughed at a lot of stories about NAF Fire and Rescue then following the same path to one of the greatest agencies in the world U.S. Customs. You taught me how to improve my marksmanship and gave me heck when I screwed up. Because of you I learned to enjoy shooting. You were a great friend and their to help anyone in need. May you Rest In Peace in the arms of our Lord my friend.

Dearest Christina, Monica, Christ, Gary and Sonny

My deepest condolences on the passing of my cousin, Albert. I saw at his funeral services how many lives he touched. He was much loved by many people. I know Albert is in Heaven with Our Lord because he was loving to everyone and he was very charitable with his God given artistic talent. He made Tita many veteran t-shirts and myself a shirt with the Divine Mercy on it. He also had a great talent for making walking sticks. He made one for Tita, me and my daughter. I will always cherish our visits together. Albert was a funny man. I loved his sense of humor because it was always spontaneous. He was a good man and Tita and I will miss him very much. Rest in peace, cousin, you are in Paradise. This not goodbye but until we meet again.

My deepest condolences go to the Salgado family. I had the pleasure of working with Albert with U.S Customs, and also after he retired as a Government Contractor at the Cargo Facility. He was one of the nicest people I´ve ever met. He´ll be greatly missed. Rest In Peace Albert.

As one of the many, many nieces of Alberto Salgado, I want to express the deep sense of loss at his passing. With his passing comes the end of an era. Tio Albert was the youngest of 16 children born to Eduardo and Refugio Salgado and the youngest of 11 brothers. Tio Albert has now join all his brothers in heaven .

My fondest childhood memories were the Salgado family get togethers to celebrate, where the brothers would cook, eat , and drink and just give each other a hard time.

I have no doubt that when Tio Albert arrived in heaven all of the brothers were there to greet him ,celebrate, cook, eat , drink and give him a hard time for having them wait so long for him.

My condolences. I was privileged to know Albert for many years that we worked together at U.S.Customs Service here in Calexico. Albert was a fine man and officer. We shall miss him. Although I look forward to seeing him when we gather again in Heaven, where there will be no parting. May God bless his family.
