I worked for Andy for four years when we were building the Keck Telescope and got to know him and his wife, Rosemary quite well. He was a great guy to work for and brought out the best in everyone. My condolences go out to his family.

Among the many things I will miss are his insatiable curiousity, his gentle nature, his passion for hiking in the Sierras, and his unwavering support of his family including nieces and nephews.
