ARNOLDO DIAZ LOVIO

It is with heavy, but full hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our treasured father, grandfather, and family storyteller, Arnoldo Diaz Lovio. He was born in Santana, Sonora, Mexico, on April 3, 1933; one of a very large family of brothers and sisters. After making the long journey to the U.S. (several times) he chose to build a home and have a family with his wife of 50 years, Teresa, in El Centro, California.

Arnoldo enjoyed many trades in his lifetime, among them a miner, house mover, a carpenter, there was also, thankfully, only one days work placing dynamite inside a mountain. If you're his family, you know why we're thankful about that, and you'll also know he was gifted with other talents. He enjoyed the challenge of captivating an audience, be it two or twenty; especially his grandchildren with silly stories, jokes, or songs. Most of all, he enjoyed being outside tending to his flowers while listening to music and speaking with neighbors as they walk by, and thankfully, his green thumb was a gift that was passed onto a select few family members.

The biggest personality in our family will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered and seen everyday in the thoughts, actions, and stories shared by his six surviving children, Helen, Arnold, Gloria, Ines, Arturo, and Terri; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. May he rest in peace. Mass will be February 9, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe and burial will be following the mass, at Evergreen Cemetery, 10 a.m.

Per Dads wishes, there will be no viewing, rosary, or reception.
