CARMEN ROSALES Obituary

CARMEN SANCHEZ ROSALES

Dec. 31, 1941 – Mar. 14, 2025

Carmen Sanchez Rosales passed away on March 14, 2025, following a period of declining health, at El Centro Regional Medical Center, El Centro, CA.

Born in Calexico, CA, on December 31, 1941, she was the eldest child of Beatriz Manriquez Sanchez and Paulino Sanchez. She grew up in Calexico, graduated from Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy, and later married Roberto Rosales. Together, they raised five children and made their home in Calexico before moving to El Centro in 1979. Carmen retired from JCPenney, where she worked in retail sales.

A woman of deep faith and unwavering principles, Carmen was wholeheartedly devoted to her family. She took a keen interest in the lives of her children and grandchildren, always offering her love, support, and prayers.

Those who knew her cherished her quick wit and sense of humor especially her signature exclamation, "!Asustame!" She found joy in singing, laughter, and embracing life with an open heart.

Her greatest pride and joy were her 11 grandchildren, whom she unconditionally loved and supported. She attended countless sporting events and lifted up more daily prayers for them than could be counted.

Carmen is survived by her husband, Roberto Rosales, and their children: Martin Rosales, Alma Reed, Patricia (Gene) Martin, Carmen Cardenas, and Ana Marissa (Ramon) Bermudez. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Jordan and Jasmine Reed; AJ (Amy), Janyssa, and Jared Martin; Anaisa, David, and Bella Cardenas; and Andres, Karissa, and Vanessa Bermudez; and great-grandson Alijah Martin. She is also survived by her siblings, Lilia "Chachi" Moreno, Paul Sanchez, and Alma Babcock. She was preceded in death by her sister, Beatriz "Tino" Verduzco.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in El Centro on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 9 a.m., followed by a private burial at Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at Whispering Winds Camp, 4636 Mission Gorge Place, Suite 203, San Diego, CA 92120 or www.whisperingwinds.org.

Dear Sanchez Rosales Family, my deepest condolences for your great loss.
Although, I never met Carmen, I felt as if I knew her. It was clear that her family is her legacy. She poured a sense of unity, leadership and Faith into her family, which is proof of her love and devotion to our Lord. What a life well lived, I could only imagine the homecoming in heaven. May God Bless you all today and always. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. I´m heartbroken that my Tia Carmen has passed away. She was funny, kind, but most of all she was a genuine person full of grace and a woman of deep faith. She loved to laugh and make others smile. I looked up to her so much and will miss her more than words can say. Life won´t be the same without her, but I´m so grateful for all the memories and love we shared and I know she is in a better place. "Leave me alone" from your niece that lives you dearly Lilia
