CAROL WILSON Obituary

CAROL ANN WILSON

Dec. 25, 1937 – Aug. 19, 2025

On August 19, 2025, Carol Brandt Wilson passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Brawley, CA, on December 25, 1937, to Leon and Dorothy Brandt, Carol was the oldest of three.

When not attending school in Brawley, Carol and her siblings spent their time on horseback working cattle for the family business. After graduating from Brawley High in 1955, Carol attended the University of Colorado then Chapman College. About this time, she was re-acquainted with Bob Wilson Jr. They were married on May 10, 1958, in her parents' back yard in Brawley. Carol and Bob made their home in Brawley and raised their four children.

Carol was famous for her banana bread, jams, applesauce, and chocolate chip cookies. She shared her homemade treats with friends and neighbors. She was affectionately called "Grandma Carol," not just by family but by countless others. Being a grandma was one of her greatest joys, and she had a way of making each grandchild and great-grandchild feel special. She enjoyed entertaining and hosting holiday celebrations for neighborhood children and families.

Carol was an avid gardener. She loved spending hours in her yard. She was often consulted by other local gardening enthusiasts due to her vast knowledge of all things flowers. She delivered her labor of love throughout the community and often left flowers on the porch for neighbors to pick up. She welcomed the opportunity to create centerpieces for church and other special occasions.

Throughout her life, Carol was involved in many different community organizations. She was initiated into PEO chapter BS in 1972 and received her 50 year pin in 2022. She volunteered at the hospital, led 4-H groups, and was a Sunday School teacher at the Presbyterian Church in Brawley.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband of almost 66 years Bob; her parents, Leon and Dorothy Brandt; and her sister, Betty Pullis.

She is survived by her children, Dana (Patrick) Hutchinson, Shannon (Tony) Friley, Laura Pfister, and Ben (Patti) Wilson; son-in-law, Danny Pfister; grandchildren, Troy (April) Hutchinson, Lauren Hutchinson, Cole (Karlee) Pfister, Erin (James) Snyder, Dawson Pfister, Ross Wilson, Molly Wilson, and Jessica Friley; great-grandchildren, Payton, Smith, Sophie, Scottie, and Jack; brother Bill (Sue) Brandt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was loved by so many others and considered them all family.

Quietly supporting local charities and community needs was a priority to Carol. She instilled those philanthropic values in her children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider supporting a charity of your choice.

In accordance with Carol's wishes, services will be private.
