CATALINA DOMINGUEZ

Catalina Dominguez peacefully departed on November 16, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was 90 years old and resided in Calipatria since 1974. She was born on November 25, 1930 in Clovis, New Mexico.

Catalina left Clovis, New Mexico at a young age and was raised with a strong Catholic upbringing in Mexico. Catalina and her mother moved to Mexicali, Mexico in 1957, where she worked as a cook in Calexico for many years. Catalina married Jesus Dominguez in 1960 before moving to the Imperial Valley. The Dominguez family lived throughout the Imperial Valley before eventually settling in Calipatria in 1974. Catalina was a devoted wife and mother to her fourteen children. Catalina was a devout member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Calipatria. Her hobbies included gardening, listening to music, cooking, taking daily walks around the park, but the role she took most pride in was providing for and raising her children and grandchildren. Catalina will be missed greatly by her 29 grandkids and 27 great-grandkids. She was loved and respected as the pillar of the Dominguez family and left behind a huge hole in their heart. She was described as an amazing woman and the best great-grandmother.

The Dominguez family will have a rosary and mass at Catholic St. Patrick's Church on January 22, 2022 and a celebration of life following the mass.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Dominguez in 2012 and her husband, Jesus Dominguez in 2016.

Catalina is survived by Lourdes Linares, Antonio Linares, Victor Linares, Maria Guadalupe Dominguez, Luis Dominguez, Martha Long, Jesse Dominguez, Alberto Dominguez, Norma Dominguez, Paul Dominguez, Javier Dominguez, Ruben Dominguez, and Estela Dominguez.
