Celia Margaret Dominguez passed way at the age of 97 on Friday, October 15, 2021. Heaven is now her home. She was born September 19, 1924 in Ogden, Utah.

Celia was 11 years old when she and her family arrived in Holtville in the summer of 1935. The family first lived in the country north of Holtville, and Celia attended a country school. Her family later moved to their home on Thiesen Road, and Celia attended Holtville High School, graduating in 1942. She remained living at the family residence until entering a rest home in 2019.

Celia worked at Parker's Pharmacy prior to accepting a position as clerk for the Imperial County Justice Court in Holtville, under the direction of Judge Hebblethwaite. When the office closed, Celia was transferred to the Justice Court in El Centro where she remained until retirement. She shared fond memories of her travels to Europe, Israel and Hawaii with family and friends and had much to be thankful for in her life.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Holtville, also a member of the Altar Society where she enjoyed working with the ladies in the sewing group.

Celia was preceded in death by her step-father, Sam Singh Dillon; her mother, Lola Dillon; brothers, Reuben Dominguez, David Dillon, Joe Dillon and sister, Esther Dillon Heppner.

Surviving family members are brothers, Dick (Shirley) Dillon and Harry Dillon; nieces and nephews, Kathy Heppner (Carlos) Barrera, Andrea (David) Atencio, Scott (Lisa) Dillon, Aimee (Frank) Aceves, Zachary (Shawna) Dillon, and grand nieces and nephews, Lauren Atencio, Lydia, Christian and Gregory Dillon, Frank Aiden Aceves and Brylee Dillon.

The family is especially grateful for the kindness and care given to Celia by the staff at Cottage View Rest Home.

Private services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro at a later date.
