I remember this man almost everyday for years when I'd pass on that turn to or from work. I finally figured out that he was out on walks with his golden retriever. He recognized my car everytime and waved a, "hello" while he walked steadily through his acreage.
Something about the simplicity, the old restored tractor on that curve, the Cowboy hat, his dog and hay bales and mostly his smile that you could see from far away.
Sometimes I wondered if I could catch or see him out there walking. Some day, I hope. I wish I would have stopped just to say "hello" & hear some stories maybe.

I remember Charlie being such a good friend to my father, Russell Brodbeck, and our family. He had a wonderful smile and a great wit. I have many fond memories of being in the Westmoreland home during my young years. So thankful to have had their family close to ours.

Whenever I think of Uncle Charles, I see a smile on his face and a hat on his head. When his midwestern relatives (my family) came to visit, he gave tours of the ranch, and he was an awesome and entertaining tour guide. He always got us laughing in delight and disbelief!
I will forever picture him outside, checking out the ranch and glorying in its place in the world. He lived a long and good life and his transition will leave a large hole in many people's lives. May memories of his large personality comfort his wife, children, and grandchild during this time of transition.

I remember Charlie well and respected him as a good farmer and also enjoyed serving on the board of the local Farm Bureau during the No on 14 Campaign, he will be missed by those still involved in the agricultural industry.
