DENNIS B. SINGH

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis B. Singh on October 29, 2024, at the age of 61 after a long hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on December 27, 1962, to Eutropio and Amalia Singh of Imperial.

Dennis attended Imperial schools graduating from Imperial High School in 1980 and Imperial Valley College in 1982, where he played on the men's basketball teams. He attended Azusa Pacific College on a partial basketball scholarship before returning to Imperial. In 1985, Dennis began his career with IID.

Dennis reconnected with the love of his life, Rebecca Grijalva, his beloved wife of 30 years who he tenderly referred to as his "Dream Girl." They lived in Imperial with their children Alex and Angela and were very involved in school and community activities. Dennis was known for his strong faith and devotion to God's word along with his unwavering commitment to loving and supporting his family. He loved the game of basketball and was an avid Lakers fan. He and his wife helped launch the PAL basketball league in Imperial, where they invested in the youth of the community. In addition, Dennis coached high school basketball at IHS for over 20 years. Players recall how Coach Dennis not only took the time to develop their basketball skills, but to care about and know each individual player as a person. He spoke with conviction and at the same time was humorous in his approach.

Those who were lucky to know Dennis knew he was extremely patient, a great listener, and a very compassionate man with an enormous heart and sense of humor. Many knew he was always up for a good debate on just

about any topic.

Dennis enjoyed traveling with his wife, brother-in-law and sister-in-law to Italy, Greece, Alaska, Hawaii, and the East Coast. Some of you might have been recipients of his many texts and pictures from his travels. He enjoyed attending concerts, spending time with family and loved spending quality time with his grandkids.

Dennis worked for the IID for 39 years as a zanjero and later as a hydrographer where he made strong and lasting friendships.

He was forever proud of his children and loved his grandchildren greater than he ever imagined possible. Even at the end, Dennis found a way to smile, give a thumbs up, and make heart-hands especially for his little Gigi. He attended Christ Community Church as well as El Centro Church of the Nazarene. Dennis was active in the church where he volunteered his time in AWANA and youth ministry. His life was a testament to his values of

love, family, and faith.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; children Alex Grijalva and Angela Singh; grandchildren, Jordan and Gianna Grijalva; brother, Henry Singh (Lourdes) and George Singh (Carmen); brothers-in-law, Art Felix, Jorge Grijalva (Patricia), Art Grijalva (Tracy); sisters-in-law, Yolanda Grijalva, Bianca Grijalva, Elsa Grijalva-Storer (Bill), Janet Sanchez (Tom), Judy Lyerla, Jeanne Thomas (Richard), and Joy Wolf; numerous nephews and nieces, as well as great nephews and nieces, and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eutropio and Amalia Singh; in-laws, Robert and Lorraine Holt; and sister, Gloria Felix.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Christ Community Church, 590 W. Orange Ave., El Centro, CA. A reception will follow at Valley Christian Church, 431 West Wall Street, Imperial, CA. We love you to The Pluto!
