DERRICK DANIELL Obituary

Derrick Clinton Daniell, 56, of Holtville, CA, went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2022 after a short illness.
Derrick was born January 22, 1966 to Bill and Shirley Daniell in Calexico, CA. After graduating from Holtville High School in 1984, he attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cuesta Community College. Later, he settled in the Central Valley for a number of years working in the produce industry.
Throughout his life, Derrick enjoyed numerous outdoor hobbies; camping, fishing, hunting, off roading, scuba diving, bicycling, and most recently, wood working. Another one of Derrick's passions was food. He was known for his mouthwatering barbecued meats and flavorful beans. Through this passion, Double D Seasonings was born. Recently, Derrick and his team participated in the Imperial Tri-Tip Cook Off, where they used his Double D Seasonings to clinch the win for best tri-tip.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Daniell; maternal grandparents, Emily and Clinton Sprague; paternal grandparents; Etta and Thomas Daniell; and aunt, Sharon Ainsworth.
Derrick is survived by his mother, Shirley Daniell; sisters, Delu (Jeff) Plourd and DeEtte Daniell; nephews, Blake (Autumn) Plourd and Cammeron (Kari) Cooper; nieces, Brooke Plourd and Jordyn (Beau) Kloeppel; great-nieces Crosley, Blythe, and Brox Plourd; and many friends.
His outgoing personality and captivating storytelling will be missed by all who know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cornerstone Community Church in Holtville, CA on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10 a.m.

Derrick was six years younger than me, but I met him through his amazing sisters Delu and DeEtte. I remember a boy with an amazing smile and quick wit. Prayers to the family.
