Dolores M. Gutierrez, 91, of Brawley, CA, went to heaven. God did many miracles for her. She was born on June 26, 1931 to Silvestre and Juaquina Mata at their home ranch in Brawley. She was the eldest of her siblings. At a very young age, she got out of school to go work in the fields with her dad, she was always a hard worker. Later in life, she married, Daniel A. Gutierrez. She enjoyed life by being a #1 bingo player and not missing a day. Her long conversations would be greatly missed. She always enjoyed talking about interesting stories from the past, spoke her mind, and wouldn't forget her camera to photograph family and friends. Her being so sociable and an outgoing person made it very fun to be with. She enjoyed dancing with family and friends and hearing all kinds of music till her heart beat with happiness. Her heart was very extraordinary and humble to help someone in need. She gave us lots of love, laughter, smiles, and jokes that no one can replace.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel Gutierrez; daughter, Terry Castillo; brother, Mago Mata; sister, Mary Encinas; grandson, Gonzalo Diaz III; granddaughter, Silvia Diaz; and great-granddaughter, Lillie De Leon.

She is survived by three brothers, Joe, Tony, Fidel Mata; three daughters, Marie Montenegro Silva (Idaho), Jessica Montenegro Ortiz (Fullerton), Tillie Gutierrez Leon (Brawley); 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Loved ones will tremendously miss her presence.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the lovely flowers, prayers, generous gifts, and comforting words.

The funeral services will be held on October 31, 2022, at Frye Chapel in Brawley. There will be a viewing at 8 a.m. and a service at 9 a.m. The burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery immediately following the service.
