EDDIE DOTSON Obituary

EDDIE DOTSON

June 6, 1953 Mar. 15, 2022

Eddie Dotson, 68, of Imperial passed away on March 15, 2022, he courageously fought a 3 year battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.

He worked at Stoker's Chemical Company from 1976-1986, Stan's Auto Body from 1986-2005 and at D&H Auto Body Shop in Brawley from 2006-2016.

Eddies' family moved to the Imperial Valley from Missouri when he was a young child. He grew up in El Centro, went to school at CUHS. He met the love of his life, Teresa Beam and they married June 4, 1976 and remained married through his death.

Eddie was a avid car mechanic his entire life. As a young man, he loved working on Pontiac GTO, Firebirds, any and all fast cars. He loved the challenge of building and rebuilding engines, after his day job and on weekends. With patience he would painstakingly check each part making sure the car ran perfect. Then he would jump in the car taking it for a test drive putting the pedal to the metal pushing the motor to it's limits. When asked why he did this he would say and I quote, For the hell of the ride!" The faster he could go in the car the better he liked it.

Later in life, Eddie enjoyed going on various adventure trips with, Katina, Sam, his sister and brother in law. His most favorite ride was the roller coaster. He also rode just about every daring amusement ride in the park. He was a daredevil and the more challenging the ride the more he loved it. He was not afraid to "pull the pin" as he would say. His favorite pastime was going to storage locker auctions and sales with his sister and brother in law, Mary and George Widmann. He would often find "treasures" and bring them home to anyone of us whom he thought would enjoy it. Eddie's son, Ryan and brother in law, Leslie Wyatt, would treat him to various casinos and sometimes their families would go to Vegas and Laughlin. During his illness he enjoyed online group pulls with his son, Ryan; brother, James; and his family. These times brought him so much joy. His favorite companion, besides his wife and family was his dog, Shado. Shado was always beside Eddie. Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Dotson; mother, Theda Dotson; brother, Arnold Dotson.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Teresa Dotson of Imperial, CA; sons, Ryan Dotson of Imperial, CA; and Derrick Dotson of Oregon; brothers, James (Judy) Dotson of Imperial; Glen (Ginger) Dotson of Tucson, AZ; Gerald Dotson of Tucson, AZ; Steve (Latisha) Dotson of Seeley, CA; Corky Lankford of Seeley, CA; sisters, Mary (George) Widmann of Imperial; Jodi (Tip) Stoner of Yuma, AZ; and Sharon Johnson(Steve) of Yuma, AZ; He also leaves behind many neices, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

The family suggest memorials to Cancer Resource Center of the Desert in El Centro, CA.
