long illness on Monday,
September 14, 2015 in Las
Vegas, NV. Eduardo was born on
March 13, 1954 in San Fer-
nando, CA. He attended
schools in Calexico, and
was a graduate of Calexi-
co High School. He at-
tended UCSD and San
Diego State University,
Calexico Campus where
he earned a Bachelors
Degree in Liberal Studies
and a Teaching Creden-
tial. He continued his
education obtaining a
Masters Degree in
Education and Technolo-
gy from Phoenix Univer-
sity, Las Vegas, NV. Ed
was an Elementary
School Teacher for twen-
ty five years for Clark
County in Las Vegas, NV
and retired in 2008. He
was a highly motivated,
enthusiastic and dedicat-
ed educator. He was a
versatile teacher and ac-
complished guitar player
with the talent to develop
lessons that combined
music with the curricu-
lum to help his multi cul-
tural students be success-
ful learners. Ed, "Mr..
Luera was proud to be a
Teacher. He was preceded in
death by his mother, Jes-
sie Luera; brother, Ar-
mando Luera and niece,
Franchesca Valencia. He is survived by his
father, Rafael Luera of El
Centro; sisters, Mary
Harris (Jim) of Surprise,
AZ, Isabel Valencia of El
Centro, CA, Jessie De Los
Santos (Jose) of Imperial,
CA; brothers, Ralph
Luera, Joe Luera (Maria),
Rigoberto Luera
(Mayslim) of Las Vegas,
NV; several nieces and
nephews of California,
Las Vegas, NV and Arizo-
na. Rosary will be held on
Thursday, September 10,
2015 at 6:30 p.m. at Our
Lady of Guadalupe in El
Centro. Service will be
held on Friday, Septem-
ber 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. with
Deacon Domingo Enri-
quez at Our Lady of Gua-
dalupe in El Centro. Buri-
al will immediately fol-
low at Mountain View
Cemetery in Calexico.

My 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. He was one of the best teachers I had at Sunrise acres elementary school. So sad to find out he passed . My condolences to he’s family.

I remember him from Sunrise Elementary School. He was a very nice person and talented. I knew he was sick but I didn't remember why except maybe something with his kidneys or liver. I left Sunrise Acres in 1997 and now it's been about 5 years. I'm sorry he passed one
